RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Receive the Certified Statement of Votes Cast and declare final the results of the August 29, 2023 Santa Lucia Community Services District Special Tax Measure Election as set forth in the attached documents.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Elections Department requests the Board of Supervisors receive the Statement of Votes Cast at the August 29, 2023 Special Election within Monterey County, as certified by the Registrar of Voters.
In accordance with Elections Code section 15372, the Registrar of Voters is submitting the certified Statement of Votes Cast to your Board. Pursuant to Elections Code section 15374, the Statement of Votes Cast shows:
* the total number of ballots cast;
* the number of votes cast at each precinct for and against the measure;
* the total number of votes cast for and against the measure;
* the total number of votes cast in each major reportable district located in whole or in part in the jurisdiction which put forth the measure.
Pursuant to Elections Code section 15400, the Registrar of Voters recommends that the Board declare the results of Measure T as delineated in the attached August 29, 2023 Final Official Report.
Copies of the August 29, 2023 Final Official Report and Statement of Votes Cast are on file with the Clerk of the Board and available online at www.MontereyCountyElections.us.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Santa Lucia Community Services District requested that the Registrar of Voters render election services for the August 29, 2023 Special All Mail Ballot Election. County Counsel reviewed and approved the recommendation.
