RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and Authorize the Contract/Purchasing Officer to sign Amendment Number 6 to the Contractual Agreement No. A-07625 between the County of Monterey and the Megabyte Systems Inc. for implementation of an additional Assessor's Office Online Business Property Filing (OBPF) module and associated annual maintenance.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
In 1990, your Board authorized the County to enter into an agreement with Megabyte Systems, Inc. to provide a complete property tax assessment, collection and apportionment package for use by the County Tax Collector, Assessor, and Auditor Offices. Subsequently, the agreement has been subject to additional modification and addition of modules and service components to provide expanded services to those Offices as well as the Clerk to the Board.
At this time, it is requested that your Board approve the proposed Amendment No. 6. Amendment No. 6 which includes the Online Business Property Filing (OBPF) upgrade that will improve navigation within the interface, increase the data communication using the latest technologies, and tighten security with County servers. The terms conditions and provisions of the Agreement otherwise remained unchanged and unaffected by the amendment.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel has reviewed the amendment and has approved it as to form. The Auditor-Controller has approved fiscal provisions. The Auditor-Controller and Treasurer-Tax Collector, as users of the services, are in support of the recommendation.
