RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to execute Amendment No. 2 to Agreement A-13555 with the Action Council of Monterey County for the provision of Motivating Individual Leadership for Public Advancement (MILPA) reclassification and community outreach and education services to extend the term of the agreement to September 30, 2021 and increase the amount by $104,317, for a total Agreement amount not to exceed $380,312 for the term of January 14, 2018 to September 30, 2021.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Board of State and Community Corrections awarded a three-year $6,000,000 grant to the Monterey County Health Department, Behavioral Health Bureau and allowed for a no-cost extension for a new term date of June 16, 2017 through September 30, 2021.

The Behavioral Health Bureau works with MILPA and its fiduciary agent the Action Council of Monterey County to provide reclassification and community outreach and education services to eligible clients in Monterey County. The goals and objectives are to provide the appropriate supportive services aimed at increasing the progression and recovery rate for this population. This Amendment No. 2 adds funding for continued services for FY 2020-21 and FY 2021-22 and extends the contract term to September 30, 2021 per the new no-cost extension date.
