County of Monterey, State of California
Resolution No.: 11-002
Adopt resolution honoring Private First
Class Conrado D. Javier Jr
WHEREAS, Conrado D. Javier, Jr was a resident of Marina and a 2009 graduate of Seaside High School where
he was active in the ROTC program, a member of the drill team and frequently volunteered to attend funerals and
other occasions with the team; and
WHEREAS, Conrado D. Javier, Jr was one of eight children and the son of Conrado and Julia Javier; and
WHEREAS, Conrado D. Javier, Jr yearned to be in the military since he was five years old and felt that the
military service was a part of his family's Mexican heritage; and
WHEREAS, Conrado D. Javier, Jr was assigned to the 3`d Squadron, 2nd Styker Cavalry Regiment, Vilseck,
Germany; and
WHEREAS, Conrado D. Javier, Jr was killed in action in the Kandahar Province of Afghanistan, during
Operation Enduring Freedom, on December Nineteenth, Two Thousand Ten, during an enemy attack.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Monterey on behalf
of all citizens thereof, hereby acknowledges, commends, and honors Conrado D. Javier, Jr for his service in the
United States Army, Operation Enduring Freedom, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors honors Conrado D. Javier, Jr for his self-
lessness, strength and pride as he protected the United States.
Upon motion of Supervisor Armenta, seconded by Supervisor Salinas, the foregoing order was passed
