RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the Board of Supervisors authorize the Purchasing Manager for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) to issue Purchase Orders per the County Master Agreements with Manpower Temporary Services and SFN Group Inc. (MA*62 and MA*65) for Temporary Help Services at NMC in an amount not to exceed $2,000,000 for the period July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Natividad Medical Center utilizes employees from temporary agencies to assist in meeting the labor needs of the organization to ensure we provide quality customer service to our clients.
NMC is requesting the approval of this board message to allow us to cover needs for staff in critical areas. Temporary staff covers for staff vacations, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and other long term leave of absences, workers compensation, and an increase in patient census or vacancies.
Approval of this request will allow NMC to provide quality customer service to our patients, and to meet the needs of our community at all times.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel has reviewed and approved this request as to legal form and risk provisions. Auditor-Controller has reviewed and approved this request as to fiscal provisions. The request has also been reviewed and approved by Natividad Medical Center’s Board of Trustees.
FINANCING:
The cost for this request is $2,000,000 and is included in the Fiscal Year 2012/2013 Recommended Budget. There is no impact to the General Fund.
