Title: a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social and Employment Services, or his designee, to sign an agreement with Seneca Residential & Day Treatment Center for Children for $306,600 for the period July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013 for the provision of services to relative and near-kin caregivers; and b. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social and Employment Services, or his designee, to sign an agreement with Seneca Residential & Day Treatment Center for Children for $306,600 for the period July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013 for the provision of services to relative and near-kin caregivers; and
b. Authorize the Director of the Department of Social and Employment Services, or his designee, to sign up to three (3) amendments to this agreement, where the total amendments do not exceed 10% of the original contract amount, and do not significantly change the scope of work.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Monterey County Department of Social and Employment Services (DSES), through its Family and Children’s Services (FCS) Branch, provides services for children who have been victims, or are at high risk, of abuse, neglect or exploitation. Many of these children reside with relative or near-kin caregivers who provide for their full-time care.
Seneca Residential and Day Treatment Center for Children operates three Kinship Support Services Program (KSSP) sites as part of the Kinship Center’s Family Ties Program.
