RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Adopt the Monterey County Construction Task Catalog, Roads & Bridges and Facilities JOC Specifications Manuals, and Monterey County Technical Specifications for the Job Order Contracting 2014, Project No. JOC 2014, Bid No. Roads & Bridges 2014-01, Bid No. Roads & Bridges 2014-02, and Project No. JOC 2014, Bid No. Facilities 2014-01, Bid No. Facilities 2014-02; and
b. Authorize the Director of Public Works to advertise the "Notice to Contractors" in the Monterey County Weekly.
SUMMARY:
The recommended action allows for the adoption of the annual Monterey County Job Order Contracting (JOC) Task Catalog and authorizes Resource Management Agency-Public Works (RMA-Public Works) to advertise for the JOC 2014 contracts, which are anticipated to be awarded in November 2014 when the current annual JOC contracts expire.
DISCUSSION:
Public Works Contract Code Section 20128.5 provides that counties may award annual contracts for repair, remodeling, or other repetitive work to be done according to unit prices, commonly referred to as Job Order Contracting (JOC).
