It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of Health Services or their designee to execute an Amendment No. 1 to three-year Mental Health Services Agreement A-15377 with the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula (CHOMP) for the addition of Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) services, adding $1,542,860 to FY 2023-24 for a new maximum County obligation of $1,878,380 retroactive to July 1, 2023, for the same full term of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2024.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION
On June 30, 2021 the County entered into a three-year Mental Health Services Agreement No. A-15377 with the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula (CHOMP) in the amount of $335,520 for the term of July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2024 for the provision of mental health services for Monterey County adult residents with severe psychiatric disabilities in a Hospital Inpatient and Day Treatment Intensive Services model on an Inpatient Fee-for-Service Medi-Cal program.
This Amendment No. 1 to that Agreement continues the provisions for Hospital Inpatient and Day Treatment Intensive Services, however, also adds needed Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) services to that Agreement, effective in the third year and retroactive to July 1, 2023, coinciding with the opening of a new CSU facility at CHOMP. This Amendment to Agreement A-15377 increases the total COUNTY obligation by $1,542,860 for FY 2023-24 for a revised total contract amount of $1,878,380.
