Resolution Congratulating Margaret Peggy" Pruitt, Public Health Nurse 111,
Community Health Division, Upon Her Retirement from the Monterey County
Health Department after 20 Years of Public Service...................................

WHEREAS, Peggy Pruitt, was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, graduated from GAR High School,
Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in 1961, received her Registered Nurse Diploma from Mercy Hospital School of
Nursing, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in 1964, graduated magna cum laude from Hunter College of the City
University of New York, Bellevue, New York with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing in 1971, received
a Coronary Care Nurse certification from Cornell University School of Nursing, New York, New York in 1971,
received her Public Health Nurse PHN) certificate in 1985; and

WHEREAS, Peggy Pruitt, in 1974 worked as an office nurse in San Francisco, California; and in 1976 worked
in as an Intensive Care Nurse at Healdsburg General Hospital, California; and in 1979 worked as a per diem
Registered Nurse at Doctors Hospital of Pinole, California; and in 1981 was a co-owner of Wards Sale Agency
in King City, California; and on October 14, 1985 was hired to work for the Monterey County Health
Department as a PHN in South County Region as a generalized PHN working with Maternal Child Health,
Communicable Disease, Tuberculosis Units, and Clinical services, suc...
