RECOMMENDATION:
 
Approve the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Deputy Sheriffs' Association (DSA) Units A, B and C for the period July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2016.
 
SUMMARY / DISCUSSION:
 
On September 19, 2013, DSA Units A, B and C ratified a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the County of Monterey. The terms and conditions of the MOU are now submitted for approval.
 
The DSA MOU provides for employee contributions to CalPERS and other changes to wages and benefits.
 
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
 
The DSA Units A, B and C members and County of Monterey staff contributed to the development of the MOU as presented.
 
FINANCING:
 
Estimated costs for the MOU with the DSA totaled $2,030,566 for FY 2013-14. Additional annual increases of $421,216 and $850,855 are expected for FY 2014-15 and FY 2015-16, respectively. By the end of the third year of the agreement, total annualized costs will have increased an estimated $3,302,637.
