RECOMMENDATION/SUMMARY:
a. Authorize and approve the Director of the Monterey County Free Libraries ("MCFL") to execute a three (3) year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the term of July 9, 2024 to July 8, 2027 with the Friends of the Gordon B. Forrest Memorial Library, aka Friends of the Seaside Library ("Friends") to partner with Monterey County on behalf of MCFL and
b. Authorize the Library Director to execute up to three (3) future annual amendments to the agreement that do not significantly alter the scope of work.
DISCUSSION:
The Friends of the Gordon B. Forrest Memorial Library also known as Friends of the Seaside Library (Friends) have supported the activities and facility of the Seaside Branch Library in Seaside, working closely with MCFL staff to bring additional programs, materials, and services to the community.
This MOU outlines roles and responsibilities for continued collaborative work between MCFL and the Friends, benefitting the entire Seaside community.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Office of County Counsel has reviewed this item and approves as to form.
FINANCING:
There is no funding required for this item.
