RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Emergency Communications Department to sign agreement 1520-19007, for an amount not to exceed $188,718.55, with GeoComm Inc. to provide Geographical Information System data processing for the term of April 1, 2020 through March 31, 2023.
b. Authorize the Director of the Emergency Communications Department to sign up to three amendments to this Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($18,871) of the agreement amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Monterey County Emergency Communications Department (ECD) is a consolidated public safety answer point and dispatch facility serving 28 law enforcement, fire protection, and emergency medical services (EMS) response agencies throughout Monterey County. Calls for service are dispatched through the ECD's Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system which determines the correct agency response through a Geographical Information System (GIS) driven mapping system within the CAD.

This mapping system contains a street centerline, address points, and law, fire and EMS response zone polygons for the entire County of Monterey. This map determines which agency responds and provides routing for emergency response.
