Report
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors authorize the Auditor-Controller to amend the FY 2012-13 Office of Emergency Services General Fund 001 CAO05 Budget to increase estimated revenue and appropriation in the amount of $25,564 (4/5th vote required).

SUMMARY:

The Office of Emergency Services (OES) requests an increase in estimated revenue and appropriation in the amount of $25,564 due to additional Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) funds that have been awarded to Monterey County OES. This increase includes $9,864 to the original $200,000 for grant associated work and an additional $14,700 to support WebEOC software per Exhibit A. The new grant amount is $224,564.

DISCUSSION:

This amendment will provide adequate appropriations to cover costs associated with grant activities as well as WebEOC software installation and ITD costs for firewalls, GIS configuration, and technical labor. This increase will bring total appropriations and revenues in Fund 001 CAO005 for the EMPG grant to $ 224,564.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

This item was reviewed and approved at the March 27, 2013 Budget Committee Meeting.

FINANCING:

The increased estimated revenue and appropriation will have no impact on the OES General Fund Contribution. The funds are one-time federal FEMA grant funds.
