a. Approve and Authorize the District Attorney to sign, submit and execute twelve applications, including any extensions or amendments thereof, for continued funding for FY 2013-14 from Federal and State agencies for the District Attorney’s Office Victim Assistance Unit and various Prosecution Programs as identified in the attached Board Order.
b. Approve and Authorize the District Attorney to submit a joint grant application with the City of Salinas to the Federal Government under the Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program, and authorize the County Administrative Officer to sign a Memorandum of Agreement as well as joint application for the grant with the City of Salinas.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and Authorize the District Attorney to sign, submit and execute twelve applications, including any extensions or amendments thereof, for continued funding for FY 2013-14 from Federal and State agencies for the District Attorney’s Office Victim Assistance Unit and various Prosecution Programs as identified in the attached Board Order.

SUMMARY:
The Monterey County District Attorney’s Office relies on a variety of Federal and State grants to provide a portion of the financial support required by the Department for the services it provides in the County. Funding for these programs is expected to continue in FY 2012-13.
