RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors appoint two members to serve on an ad hoc Natividad Medical Center Strategic Planning Committee.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
At the meeting of June 13, 2017, the Board requested that staff schedule an item to consider appointment of two members of the Board to an ad hoc committee to facilitate strategic planning efforts by the Natividad Medical Center (NMC) Board of Trustees and executive staff. NMC has identified a number of strategic planning key issues for fiscal year (FY) 2017-18 including planning for potential changes to and/or repeal of the Federal Affordable Care Act and a variety of issues related to delivery of medical services to the community.
The Board's ad hoc NMC Strategic Planning Committee would conclude upon completion of NMC's FY 2017-18 strategic planning effort.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
NMC and County Counsel were consulted on this recommended action.
FINANCING:
The cost for the recommended action is within the FY 2017-18 Recommended Budget. There is no impact to the General Fund.
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS STRATEGIC INITIATIVES:
Activities of the NMC Strategic Planning ad hoc Committee is consistent with the Board of Supervisors’ Strategic Initiatives for Administration, Infrastructure, and Health and Human Services.
