RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Authorize the Purchasing Manager for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) to execute the First Amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with Central Coast Head and Neck Surgeons, a Medical Group, Inc. to provide Otolaryngology and Audiology Services at NMC, extending the Agreement to June 30, 2013 and adding $400,000 for Fiscal Year 2013 for a revised total Agreement amount not to exceed $800,000 in the aggregate.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Central Coast Head and Neck Surgeons, a Medical Group, Inc. is a professional corporation consisting of physicians that are licensed to practice medicine in the state of California. NMC currently has an agreement with Central Coast Head and Neck Surgeons to provide 24 hours a day, 7 days a week otolaryngology, also known as ear, nose and throat (ENT), call coverage in the emergency department and to provide audiology services to hospital inpatients, and outpatients in the specialty clinic. NMC wishes to amend the agreement with Central Coast Head and Neck Surgeons to extend the term for another twelve (12) months in order to continue to provide ophthalmology services to patients without interruption.

NMC has obtained an independent opinion of fair market value supporting the payment terms of this Agreement. The scope of services and compensation for FY13 are the same as FY12. The additional $400,000 is equal the total compensation for ENT call coverage and Audiology Services that will be provided for the period July 1, 2012 to June 3...
