RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors authorize the Purchasing Manager for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) to execute the First Amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with Allen Radner MD to provide internal medicine and infectious disease services at NMC, extending the Agreement to June 30, 2013 and adding $90,000 for Fiscal Year 2012/2013 for a revised total Agreement amount not to exceed $180,000 in the aggregate.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Allen Radner MD is licensed to practice medicine in the state of California and currently has an agreement with NMC to provide internal medicine and infectious disease services. Dr. Radner provides 24/7 emergency department call coverage; specialty services to NIDO clinic patients and oversight to the infection control department practices and policies. NMC wishes to amend the current agreement with Dr. Radner to extend the term an additional twelve (12) months in order to continue to provide internal medicine and infectious disease services to patients without interruption.
NMC has obtained an independent opinion of fair market value supporting the payment terms of this Agreement. The scopes of services and compensation for Fiscal Year 12/13 are the same as Fiscal Year 11/12. The additional $90,000 is equal the total compensation for services provided during the period July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
