RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors approve an increase of estimated revenues and appropriations for Fiscal Year 2011-12 of $5,110,539 in Sheriff's Appropriation Unit SHE006 in Fund 022 to be in compliance with Assembly Bill No. 118 requirements (4/5th Vote Required).

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Assembly Bill No. 118 (AB 118), Local Revenue Fund 2011, required counties to establish a new 2011 County Local Revenue Fund to receive state monies for support of realigned public safety services. The Auditor-Controller established Fund 022 for this purpose. To implement AB 118, monies will be received and appropriated in Fund 022, then transferred into general fund operating departments. Since the AB 118 accounting changes were implemented after adoption of the FY 2011-12 budget, the changes below are necessary to ensure accurate accounting for Sheriff's Office expenses. The accounting changes do not impact general fund contributions to the Sheriff's Office:

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The County Administrative Office has reviewed the report.

FINANCING:
The recommended actions do not impact General Fund Contribution to the Sheriff's Office.
