RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of Health to sign Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement A-11713 with ODD-Fellow Rebekah Children’s Home of California to increase funding to add board and care services for April 1, 2012 to June 30, 2012 in the amount of $54,876 and July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013 in the amount of $219,504, for the revised total amount not to exceed $1,211,956.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
ODD-Fellow Rebekah Children’s Home of California will provide Board and Care and Mental Health services to two Monterey County young adults in accordance with the client’s individual education plan and other identified needs. The Department of Social And Employment Services is no longer administering Board and Care fees for the Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA). The Behavioral Health Bureau, as lead provider for mental health services to this population of referred students is also administering board and care services and will seek reimbursement from the local SELPA for such services. The goal of the program is to reduce inappropriate behavioral and/or psychiatric symptoms to a level of care whereby the youth can return home or move to a lower level of care.

This Amendment is retroactive to April 1, 2012, the date when a young adult was placed at ODD-Fellow Rebekah Children’s Home of California on an emergency basis.
