Resolution No. 10-077
A Resolution honoring the North Salinas High School Girls Varsity Basketball team
as the 2010 Central Coast State Division I, Champions in Girls Basketball
upon victoriously competing at the highest level of competition regionally
WHEREAS, On Saturday, March 6, 2010 the North Salinas High School Girls Varsity Basketball Team,
won their first ever Central Coast Section Division 1 title Championship, 51-31 over Menlo-
Atherton at Santa Clara University; and
WHEREAS, The North Salinas High School Girls Varsity Basketball Team won the Tri County Athletic
League TCAL) Championship 2009-2010 with a league record of 11 wins and l loss; and,
WHEREAS, The North Salinas High School Girls Varsity Basketball Team made it to the second round
of the Northern California Division I playoffs; and,
WHEREAS, The North Salinas High School Girls Varsity Basketball Team was coached by Head Coach
Darren Jackson and Assistant Coach Dennis Stacey. Members of the championship team are:
Julia Ashen, Alyssa Ayala, Meeshell Campbell, Sandra Castillo, Mekayla Dacpano, Tyana Macias,
Sara Makanani, Mackenzie Nelson, Tiana Osbrne, Fe E. Ramos, Jasmin Rowland, Brionna Sullen,
Taryn Winfield, and Amy Woo; and,
WHEREAS, off the field the North Salinas High School Girls Varsity Basketball Team compiled an over
GPA of 3.2.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Monterey County Board of Supervisors takes
great pride in congratulating North Salinas High School Girls Varsity Basketball Team on being the 2010
Central Coast State Division I Champions and for being victorious at the highest level of
competition, regionally, for their sport and hereby conveys to them their sincere best wishes for
every success in the future.
