Resolution of Proclamation Honoring Carol Hayward
Upon her selection as one of six Outstanding Women of
Monterey County for 2010
Whereas, Carol Hayward has been selected by the Monterey County Commission on the Status of
Women as one of six Outstanding Women in Monterey County for 2010; and
Whereas, Carol Hayward's journey began in 2004 when Carol was called into action by initiating a
Health and wellness program at her church mentoring her congregation on how to live a healthy and
happy lifestyle; and
Whereas, Carol Hayward has raised awareness in her congregation and as a Faith Community Nurse
she also pursed this role with other churches, making a difference by providing area nurses with the
opportunity to receive the Basic Faith Community Nurses Preparation Course for the first time; and
Whereas, Carol Hayward has produced 13 new Faith Community Nurses and getting three
different congregations to also develop health ministries and was also instrumental in forming
the Latino Women's Ministry in Salinas; and
Whereas, Carol Hayward as founder of the Faith Community Nurses Organization, has
inspired leadership and professionalism in nursing in Monterey County.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Monterey County Board of Supervisors and all
citizens therefore hereby congratulate Carol Hayward on her selection as one of six Outstanding Women
in Monterey County for 2010 and wishes her health, happiness, and success in all her future endeavors.
PASSED AND ADOPTED on this 13'x' day of April, upon motion of Supervisor Calcagno, seconded by
Supervisor Potter, by the following vote, to-wit:
