RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Authorize acceptance of work and file a Notice of Completion for the Track Drainage Improvement Project for the Parks Department at Laguna Seca Recreation Area, Bid No. 10416.
 
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On April 23, 2013, the Board of Supervisors awarded Bid No.10416, authorizing a contract in an amount not to exceed $172,520 to complete several track drainage improvements at the Laguna Seca Recreation Area.  The project is now complete and acceptance of the work and filing a Notice of Completion are required.  
 
The scope of work for the Laguna Seca Recreation Area's Track Drainage Improvement Project Contract (Bid No. 10416) included construction of concrete gutters and ditches, grading, placing aggregate base and asphalt concrete, and other miscellaneous work.
 
The cost of the work (total contract price) is $172,520.  The work has been inspected and is satisfactory to the Parks Department staff. Upon the Board's authorization to accept the work and certification of completion by the Board, the County Parks Department will file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder.  
 
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
This Notice of Completion has been reviewed and approved as to form by County Counsel.
 
FINANCING:
There is no effect to the General Fund Contribution as a result of this project. Appropriations for this project are included in the budget for Parks Department 7500, Unit 8146.
