Approve and direct Purchasing Manager for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) to execute an agreement with RBB Architects Inc. for The Radiology Modernization Project per RFQ #9600-54 at NMC in an amount not to exceed $862,450 for the period September 23, 2014 to June 30, 2017.

SUMMARY AND DISCUSSION:
Natividad Medical Center Diagnostic Imaging department, located on the first floor of building 500, has the need to replace aging medical equipment in Computer Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). In 2013, the department replaced aging X-Ray equipment with new digitally enhanced basic radiographic equipment. This was phase one in a multi-phase project to modernize the Imaging department. In the next phase, the department will be adding two new CT scanners, a new MRI as well as creating an Angiography hybrid suite for Interventional Radiology. The Mobile Radiology Project supports the Radiology Modernization Project by providing the necessary services to allow this project to proceed with freeing up the services outside of the department. The project is forecasted to occur over a 24-36 month process with actual construction phased into three construction phases to maintain services during the remodel.

A Request for Qualifications, RFQ# 9600-54 was created and posted following the County's requirements for securing contracts. The Qualifications and Proposals for architectural and engineering services for the tenant improvements of this facility were received on February 21, 2014, from twelve architectural firms.
