Title: a. Authorize the Deputy Purchasing Agent for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) to execute an Agreement with Peninsula Business Interiors for new product, delivery, installation and associated furniture services at NMC for an amount not to exceed $775,000 for the period April 15, 2015 through April 14, 2016; and b. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the Board of Supervisors:

a. Authorize the Deputy Purchasing Agent for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) to execute an Agreement with Peninsula Business Interiors for new product, delivery, installation and associated furniture services at NMC for an amount not to exceed $775,000 for the period April 15, 2015 through April 14, 2016.
b. Authorize the Deputy Purchasing Agent for NMC to execute up to three (3) future Amendments to the Agreement which do not significantly alter the scope of work and do not cause an increase of more than ten percent (10%) of the original cost of the Agreement per each Amendment.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

In 2012 Natividad Medical Center worked with its interior design firm to develop furniture standards for patient rooms, patient waiting rooms, nurses' stations, exam rooms, and office areas. There are many benefits to having a consistent standard approach to furniture selection. Standards allow for products to be utilized efficiently and allow for better management of inventory. Modular office products can be rearranged and reconfigured with minimal cost.
