RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the Board of Supervisors:
Authorize the Deputy Purchasing Agent for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) to execute an Agreement with Novia Strategies Inc., for the preparation of job classification studies and consulting services for the Human Resources Division at NMC with a term of March 25, 2015 through March 24, 2016 and a total agreement amount not to exceed $197,500.
SUMMARY/ DISCUSSION:
Novia Strategies, Inc., a professional Human Resources firm, has performed job classification studies for the County of Monterey and also for Natividad Medical Center on behalf of the Monterey County Human Resources Department in the past. At this time NMC is requesting new classification studies for three Clinical Informatics positions, one Interpreter Services Supervisor position, one Contracts Manager position, and ten various radiology positions. In addition, NMC is requesting that Novia Strategies, Inc. also assist in recommending an organizational structure for its radiology department and a reporting structure for its Quality Administrator position.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel has reviewed and approved this Agreement as to legal form and risk provisions, and the Auditor-Controller has reviewed and approved as to payment provisions. This Agreement has also been reviewed and approved by NMC's Finance Committee on 3/5/15 and by the NMC Board of Trustees on 3/6/15.
FINANCING:
The cost for this Agreement is $197,500 which is included in the Fiscal Year 2014-15 Adopted Budget. There is no impact to the General Fund.
