RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Adopt a Resolution to approve the amended Conflict of Interest Code of the Human Resources Department of the County of Monterey.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On March 12, 2013 the Board of Supervisors adopted the Conflict of Interest Code of the Human Resources Department.  In February of 2014, changes were made to the organizational structure of the Department, including the creation of new job classifications, and the deletion of others. Due to these changes, the Department requests the Board to approve its amended Code, which incorporates the additions and deletions (Attachment C).
The amended Code for the Department is lawful under the Political Reform Act of 1974.  The proposed amendment to the Department's Code designate the positions currently subject to the Code and specifies the level of disclosure for those designated positions.
Pursuant to sections 82011 and 87303 of the Government Code, the Board of Supervisors is the code reviewing body and may approve the amended code as submitted, revised the proposed code and approve it as revised, or return the proposed code to the agency for revision and resubmission.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel has reviewed and approved the amended Code as to form.
FINANCING:
There is no fiscal impact upon the County of Monterey as a result of the amended Code.
