SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Parks Department Draft Strategic Plan was prepared by Management Partners, Inc. in 2014 at the direction of the Board of Supervisors. The draft plan is the product of extensive analysis, interviews, focus groups, and meetings with internal and external stakeholders. The draft plan analyzes the various challenges and opportunities facing the County Parks system as well as the department itself and proposes a number of actions which, when approved and implemented, are intended to chart a path for County Parks going forward in an operationally sustainable manner.

On February 4, 2015 the Parks Commission held a public forum to discuss the Draft Strategic Plan and held a follow-up public forum on March 23, 2015 as a final review and to allow for additional public comment. A copy of the Strategic Plan and the recommended implementation priority plan are attached for the Commissions use.
