Report
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Fort Ord Committee:
a. Receive an update on the draft Marina-Salinas Multimodal Corridor Plan; and
b. Provide direction.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
County staff has continued to work with TAMC on plans for a Marina-Salinas Multimodal Corridor. Conceptual design plans have been prepared and TAMC is soliciting input on these plans. On March 25, 2015 on behalf of TAMC Carl Holm presented the information. At the AAC it was found that the Davis Road alignment was more practical than Blanco Road (west of David Road) as it moved the bike route away from Agriculture as much as possible. However, if it would be on Blanco Road (east of Davis Road) the north side is preferred. The AAC raised concerns regarding the availability of public facilities (restrooms) to ensure food safety in the fields and adequate setbacks/buffers between pedestrian/cyclist to preserve agricultural processes (i.e. equipment movement pesticide application, etc.). A report prepared by TAMC is attached for your information. TAMC staff will attend the meeting to present this item.

This item is scheduled to be presented to the Planning Commission (04/28) and the full Board of Supervisors (05/12). Comments received through this process will then be presented to the TAMC Board.
