RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Receive a presentation from California State University, Monterey Bay on the CSU Monterey Bay Comprehensive Campus Master Plan.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Receive a presentation from Chris Placco, Associate Vice President for Campus Planning and Development, on the CSU Monterey Bay Comprehensive Master Plan.

The new master plan will build on earlier planning efforts that facilitated the transition of the campus from the former Fort Ord Army Base, to a 21st-century setting for teaching, learning and research. The master plan will consider a wide range of issues encompassing the academic environment, student and residential life, sustainability, mobility and infrastructure systems, and connections with Monterey Bay communities. The planning process began in April, 2015, and will continue through to the end of 2015.

The Master Plan Goals are:
* Support the University's academic mission and strategic plan vision;
* Develop a framework for sustainable growth that is aligned with enrollment objectives over the long-term;
* Create a realistic implementation strategy;
* Create a strong campus identity and sense of place;
* Facilitate a robust transportation demand management (TDM) strategy;
* Provide connections to neighboring jurisdictions;
* Generate support from campus and community constituents; and
* Support the CSUMB Climate Action Plan, including carbon neutrality by 2030.
