Adopt a Resolution designating County staff positions to authorize and execute documents and applications for the purpose of obtaining financial assistance with the California Office of Emergency Services Fiscal Year 2015 Emergency Management Performance Grant Program.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors approve a resolution designating County staff positions to authorize and execute documents and applications for the purpose of obtaining financial assistance for the California Office of Emergency Services Fiscal Year 2015 Emergency Management Performance Grant Program.

SUMMARY:
The requested action designates the Auditor-Controller and the Emergency Services Manager as the Monterey County representatives, are required for participation within the California Office of Emergency Services Fiscal Year 2015 Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) Program, to jointly have the authority to execute and process all such EMPG Grant documents on behalf of the County for the period July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2015.

DISCUSSION:
The Monterey County Office of Emergency Services has an opportunity to submit an application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency through the California Office of Emergency Services for the County of Monterey to participate in the 2015 federally funded program aimed at providing assistance to local government emergency management programs such as supporting activities for administrative tasks necessary to maintain the operational area and emergency management responsibilities of a routine nature and specific activities.
