RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors receive an oral report from Assemblymember Luis A. Alejo, Monterey County’s representative for the 30th Assembly District.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Assemblymember Luis A. Alejo has served as a member of the California State Assembly since November 2010. He currently represents the 30th Assembly District which includes portions of Monterey, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz Counties, and all of San Benito County.
Currently, Assemblymember Alejo serves as the chair of the California Latino Legislative Caucus that includes 17 Assemblymembers and 5 Senators. Alejo is the Chair of the Assembly Committee on Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials, and also serves on the Assembly Judiciary, Labor and Employment, and Local Government Committees.
Assemblymember Alejo has been a strong supporter and advocate for issues facing Monterey County. In his oral report to the Board he will provide comments on the current State Legislative Session, following which he will be available to entertain questions form the Board of Supervisors.
