RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors Appoint one member of the Board of Supervisors to serve as Director and one member of the Board of Supervisors to serve as Alternate on the 2015-2016 Board of Directors of the California State Association of Counties (CSAC).

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Under the provisions of the CSAC Constitution, members of the Board of Directors and alternates are elected by their respective boards of supervisors to one-year terms of office commencing with the first day of the CSAC annual conference. This year the CSAC annual conference will begin on December 1, 2015.

Any member of the Board of Supervisors is eligible for appointment to the CSAC Board of Directors. Historically, Monterey County has appointed the Vice-Chair of the Legislative Committee to serve as Director, and the Chair of the Legislative Committee as Alternate. Currently, Supervisor Armenta is the Vice-Chair of the Legislative Committee and Supervisor Potter is the Chair.

Once the Board has made these appointments, the Intergovernmental & Legislative Affairs staff will make the appropriate notifications to CSAC.
