RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors Health and Human Services Committee:
Receive an oral report from the Behavioral Health Director on the status of the Alcohol and Other Drug Strategic Plan for Monterey County in response to the new Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Behavioral Health Director will provide an oral report regarding the local planning activities for the new Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System (DMC-ODS) and expected impacts in Monterey County. The update highlights the following areas:
• Goals and key elements of the DMC-ODS Waiver
• Gaps in the current system and proposed next steps
• Implementing the required American Society Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria for addictive, substance-related, and co-occurring conditions in different levels of treatment
• Process underway for developing the Alcohol and Other Drug Strategic Plan in partnership with local service providers and agencies
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
No other agency was involved in the development of this report.
