Report

RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the Capital Improvement Committee (CIC) receive a Quarterly Budget and Schedule Status Report on Schilling Place Tenant Improvement Project 8862, for the period ending December 31, 2015.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

Budget and Schedule:  Project is on budget and schedule.  In September 2015, Certificates of Participation (COP) were issued to fund the Schilling Tenant Improvement Project.

Design:  Since March 2015 staff and WRD have been working on the development of the construction documents for the necessary improvements to 1441 Schilling Place.

Staff has begun studying the feasibility and cost implications of either coordinating with Monterey Salinas Transit (MST) in the development of an appropriate bus schedule or using a County operated shuttle service to ensure the public has complete access to 1441 Schilling Place. In November 2015, the CIC accepted the Health Department’s Employee Wellness Program initiative to develop a fitness program that will be offered at Schilling’s Fitness Center.  Staff began the development of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for securing a food service provider for the Cafeteria.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

Resource Management Agency-Public Works continues to work closely with the County Administrative Office, Information Technology Department, and County agencies that will be located to Schilling Place.

FINANCING:

The project is currently expected to be on schedule and budget.  The project is financed through a combination of COP proceeds and County funds.
