RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Monterey County Water Resources Agency Board of Supervisors:
a. Set a Public Hearing on June 7, 2016 at 1:30 PM to consider adopting FY 2016-2017 benefit assessment charges for Zones 2C; and,
b. Direct the Clerk of the Board to publish hearing notices in the CALIFORNIAN, THE SOLEDAD BEE, THE REGISTER-PAJARONIAN and the KING CITY RUSTLER at least ten (10) days prior to the date set for the hearing.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On March 28, 2016 the Monterey County Water Resources Agency Board of Directors approved the Agency's FY 2016-17 Recommended Budget directing staff to apply the annual COLA/CPI index increase to Zone 2C Operations and Maintenance and Administration only. This report reflects the recently published 2016 CPI of 3% for Zone 2C Operations and Maintenance and Administration as shown in the Zone Map Attachment 1. Ordinance No. 4203 governs Zone 2C assessments which the electorate of the Agency's Zone 2C approved for the Salinas Valley Water Project (SVWP).
A public hearing has been scheduled for June 7, 2016 at 1:30 PM to consider adopting assessment rates as set forth in the Notice of Public Hearing relating to Zone 2C for Fiscal Year 2016-17, all identified in the Public Notice. Notice of the hearing will be was published in The CALIFORNIAN, THE SOLEDAD BEE, THE REGISTER PAJARONIAN and the KING CITY RUSTLER at least ten days prior to the date set for this hearing.
