RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Budget Committee receive a Quarterly Budget and Schedule Status Report on Schilling Place Tenant Improvement, Project 8862 (Project), for period ending March 31, 2016.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Key schedule components and budget status are summarized below.

Budget and Schedule: The overall Project is on budget and schedule.

Design: Wald Ruhnke Dost, Architects, continued to develop and complete the Construction Document Plans and Specifications. Documents have been Code and Plan Check reviewed and are 100% complete.

Public Bid Phase: Board of Supervisors authorized advertising for bids on March 22, 2016 and the first Notice to Bidders Inviting Formal Bids was published March 24, 2016.

Milestones: The next milestone will be the award of the contract in early June, 2016.
Existing Workstation Breakdowns: A Job Order Contract (JOC) was awarded to inventory all existing workstation and standalone furniture styles and types and to breakdown the workstations into their various components. This scope prepares the components to be re-built into new configurations during the construction phase of the project.

Re-Roofing: A JOC was awarded to re-roof the North and South Buildings. Work continues but with rain delays and installation challenges. Leaks into the interior of the building have occurred and the contractor has accepted full responsibility for repairs and replacements of damaged finishes.

CEQA: Project is Categorically Exempt.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
RMA-Public Works coordinated with the County Administrative Office and all selected agency tenants who will reside at Schilling Place to develop the Project Plans and Specifications.
