Title
Adopt a Resolution terminating the Proclamation of Local Emergency approved under Board Resolution No. 16-084 on April 12, 2016.
Report
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a Proclamation terminating the Proclamation of Local Emergency adopted under Board Resolution No. 16-084 on April 12, 2016.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On April 12, 2016, the Board adopted Resolution No. 16-084, which proclaimed an emergency relating to infrastructure damage resulting from El Nino enhanced winter storms and high tide events. Adoption of the emergency proclamation allowed for emergency repairs to be made to damaged roadways and storm water facilities in Monterey County.
Those repairs have been substantially completed, and the County has been informed that emergency funding through the CDAA and other federal sources is not forthcoming. Therefore the emergency situations cited in the resolution have been satisfactorily mitigated.
Accordingly, it is recommended that the Board formally terminate the Proclamation of Emergency by adopting the attached Resolution.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The mitigation efforts of the foregoing conditions affecting Monterey County were conducted by the Monterey County Resource Management Agency and Monterey County Public Works Department.
FINANCING:
This proclamation terminating a local emergency will not impact the General Fund.
