Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Authorize the submission of an application to the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) for a County Victim Services (XC) Program grant in the amount of $508,500 for the Monterey County Victims Services Project; and
b. Direct the County Administrative Office, Community Engagement and Advocacy Division, to return to the Board for approval prior to the acceptance of a grant award.

SUMMARY:
The County Administrative Office - Intergovernmental & Legislative Affairs Division's Strategic Grant Services Program submitted an application to the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) for a County Victim Services (XC) Program grant in the amount of $508,500 on May 24, 2016. Board authorization is required for final CalOES consideration of the application. CalOES is expected to announce awards for this grant program in the summer of 2016.

If awarded, the grant will fund the Monterey County Victim Services Project, which will provide an expansion of victim services provided by the County and partner agencies. The project is expected to take place between July 2016 and June 2018, and will be administered by the County Administrative Office - Community Engagement & Advocacy Division, which will return to the Board for approval prior to the acceptance of a grant award.
