RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Authorize the Deputy Purchasing Agent for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) or his designee to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement with Jane Finney, CLS, MBA, CPHQ, CPPS for Consulting Services at NMC, extending the Agreement an additional one (1) year period from November 2, 2016 to November 1, 2017 for a revised full agreement term of November 9, 2015 through November 1, 2017 and adding $100,000 for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $200,000.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On December 30, 2015, the federal Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) approved a five year renewal of California's Section 1115 Medicaid Waiver, which provides California with more than $6.2 billion in new federal funding through programs that shift the focus away from hospital-based and inpatient care, towards outpatient, primary and preventative care - in other words, from volume to value.
The Public hospital Redesign and Incentives in Medi-Cal (PRIME) formerly known as DSRIP is a pay-for-performance delivery system transformation and alignment program. Natividad Medical Center engaged the services of Jane Finney, CLS, MBA, CPHQ, CPPS last fiscal year for consulting and project management services specific to the PRIME program. Natividad Medical Center wishes to amend this agreement for an additional one year period.
