RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the Board of Supervisors

Authorize the Chief Executive Officer of Natividad Medical Center (NMC) to execute the Twenty-Second (22nd) Amendment to the Primary Hospital and Outpatient Laboratory Services Agreement with Central California Alliance for Health ("CCAH"), amending the rates effective August 1, 2016 to be paid for healthcare services provided by NMC to CCAH Members.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

The Central California Alliance for Health (CCAH) is the Medi-Cal Managed Care Commission for Santa Cruz-Monterey-Merced counties. NMC provides outpatient laboratory, inpatient and outpatient services to CCAH members.
The County of Monterey, on behalf of NMC, entered into a Primary Hospital Services Agreement with CCAH with an original term of July 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007. Since then, the Agreement has been renewed automatically for successive one-year terms, subject to three termination provisions (immediate termination, termination without cause, termination with cause).
Section 1457 of the Health and Safety Code provides that the records of a hospital or any other county medical facility that reveal the rates of payment for health care services rendered by, or purchased by, the hospital or other medical facility shall not be considered public records subject to disclosure pursuant to the California Public Records Act. Cal. Health & Safety Code ? 1457(c)(1). Accordingly, the payment rates have been redacted from the attached copy of the Agreement.
