RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Monterey County Water Resources Agency Board of Directors:

Receive an update on the Monterey County Water Resources Agency Committee Application Process, approve the submitted applications, and provide direction to Staff

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

The Monterey County Water Resources Agency (Agency) by-laws were revised officially at the Board of Directors' (BOD) September 19, 2016 meeting. These changes brought about a change to the Agency's BOD committee rosters for committees with public members. These committees were the Reservoir Operations Committee and the Basin Management Planning Committee. With the change in the by-laws, these committees are now called the Reservoir Operations Advisory Committee and the Basin Management Advisory Committee respectively. These committees are now 'advisory' committees since they have public members on their respective rosters.

The Agency began a Committee Application process to add members of the public to these two committees in December 2016. This application process is for the subarea and public member representatives. The other appointments from the entities named (San Luis Obispo County, Monterey County Parks, Salinas River Channel Coalition, and the others) are expected to provide two nominees to the Agency from which the selection committee will choose. Existing committee members currently on these committees were requested to reapply.

For a reminder, the two committee rosters now contain the following positions:
