Adopt a Resolution to approve amendments to the Conflict of Interest Code of the Monterey Regional Waste Management District.

 

Report

RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors, as code reviewing body for local agencies, adopt a resolution approve the proposed amendments to the Conflict of Interest Code of the Monterey Regional Waste Management District.

 

SUMMARY:

Following the biennial review of its Conflict of Interest Code required by Government Code section 87306.5, Monterey Regional Waste Management District submitted its amended Conflict of Interest Code to change the positions in its list of designated positions required to file a Form 700, Statement of Economic Interest.  The proposed amended Conflict of Interest Code is before the Board of Supervisors for approval. 

 

DISCUSSION:

Amendments to local agency Conflict of Interest Codes are authorized by section 87306 of the Government Code whenever changes are required by changed circumstances, by creation or deletion of designated positions, or by changes in the duties of such positions. Pursuant to sections 82011 and 87303 of the Government Code, the Board of Supervisors is the code reviewing body for local agencies and may approve a proposed Code as submitted, revise a proposed Code and approve it as revised, or return a proposed Code to the agency for revision and resubmission.

 

 

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

County Counsel has reviewed the proposed amendments to the Conflict of Interest Code and recommends approval. 

 

FINANCING:

There is no fiscal impact upon the County of Monterey as a result of the proposed amendments.
