RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Committee receive a verbal update on the status of the integration of Parks Department into the RMA in the FY 2017-18 Budget development process.
SUMMARY
In July 2016, the RMA Director was appointed as the Interim Director of Parks in order to evaluate if Parks should be added to RMA permanently. In December, staff reported on what we felt could be efficiencies and how Parks could be integrated into the RMA (report attached). We also reported that we were able to partially open Lake San Antonio for a few weeks within the Department’s budget capacity even though it was not funded. At that time, the Board took action for Parks to become part of the RMA. Staff will verbally report on actions since December, as well as what is planned for the upcoming budget.
