RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Monterey County Water Resources Agency Board of Directors recommend the Monterey County Water Resources Agency Board of Supervisors:

a. Approve Agreement for Grant and Purchase of Easement and Escrow Instructions;
b. Approve the Permanent Easement Deed and Temporary Construction Easement Deed for the Pure Water Monterey Reclamation Ditch Pump Station; and
c. Authorize the General Manager to execute the agreement and the easements.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Monterey Regional Water Pollution Control Agency (MRWPCA) is constructing the Pure Water Monterey Project. The Reclamation Ditch Diversion Pump Station, components of the Project, will be constructed upon and/or adjacent to land owned by the Monterey County Water Resources Agency. The construction contract has been awarded to Anderson Pacific. Notice to Proceed was issued on May 1, 2017. MRWPCA must have approved Temporary Construction and Permanent Easements in order to use funds from their SRF loan for construction. The action requested in this report relates only to the Reclamation Ditch site.

Water from the Reclamation Ditch (as well the Blanco Drain) will be diverted to the Pure Monterey Water Project for processing. The treated water will be used for injection into the Seaside Aquifer and for augmenting the Monterey County Water Recycling Projects water supply.
