RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Capital Improvement Committee receive a Quarterly Budget and Schedule Status Report on the New Juvenile Hall, Project 8811 (Project), for period ending March 31, 2017.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Key schedule components and budget status are summarized below.

On March 28, 2017, the BOS approved an increase to the New Juvenile Hall project cost from $52,791,824 to $58,671,291 that included an increase of the County match from $17,791,824 to $23,671,291.

On March 28, 2017, the BOS approved the award of the New Juvenile Hall Project, Project 8811, Bid Package No. 10590 to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, Zovich & Sons Inc. dba Zovich Construction, in the amount of $43,175,000.

All project documentation has been forwarded to State Public Works Board for official grant approval ($35,000,000) and State approval of contract award.

Contractor Notice-to-Proceed is scheduled for April 24, 2017.

State Milestones: State approvals by the State Public Works Board (SPWB), Pooled Money Investment Board (PMIB) and Department of Finance (DOF) will be completed by April 21, 2017.

Design: Architect, DLR Group, is currently incorporating bid period addendums into the Construction Documents for State Fire Marshal signature and distribution to construction team.

CEQA Process: CEQA process is complete

Real Estate Due Diligence: Real Estate Due Diligence component is complete.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
RMA-Public Works and Facilities and Probation continue to work jointly with BSCC to meet all State requirements to maintain the conditional award by moving the project forward.
