Receive a Quarterly Budget and Schedule Status Report on the East-West Wing Renovation, Project 8864 (Project), for period ending December 31, 2016.
Report
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Capital Improvement Committee receive a Quarterly Budget and Schedule Status Report on the East-West Wing Renovation, Project 8864 (Project), for period ending June 30, 2017.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Key schedule components and budget status are summarized below.

Budget and Schedule: The overall Project is on budget and schedule.

Selective Demolition - Phase I: Interior removal of building systems and partitions is complete.

Window and Door Replacement - Phase I: Installation of eighty percent of the windows was completed. The remaining windows and doors are part of the Phase II, Tenant Improvements Project.

Design - Phase II Tenant Improvement: Drawings for Phase II Tenant Improvement Project and all permitting requirements are complete.

CEQA and SEIR: The CEQA and SEIR process is complete. Mitigation Monitoring Program Reporting is underway.

Milestones: November will mark the midway point of the construction process.

Construction: Avila Construction received the contract award and construction began May 2017. Site fencing was erected and encroachment permits included the re-routing of traffic along Alisal and Church Streets. With the site secure the following began: demolition and abatement of the roofing materials; mechanical equipment ordered; interior walls x-rayed for existing steel placement; remaining courtyard vegetation removed; grading and base rock installed; demolition of interior concrete wall openings; layout of new walls; elevator submittal package reviewed and adjustments made; steel shop fabrications started, and the review of all technical submittal packages.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
RMA-Public Works coordinated with the County Administrative Office and all selected agency tenants who will reside in the East-West Wing ...
