Title
a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign an agreement for $732,168 with Aspiranet for operation of the CHERISH Receiving Center, retroactive to July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018;
b. Authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three (3) amendments to this agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($73,216) of the original contract amount, and do not significantly change the scope of work; and
c. Approve and authorize the Auditor-Controller to amend the FY 2017-18 Adopted Budget for the Department of Social Services Unit 001-5010-SOC005-8262 by increasing both appropriations and revenues by $512,741 (4/5ths vote required).

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Aspiranet operates the CHERISH Receiving Center (The Center) which provides a safe and nurturing environment for children 0-17 years of age who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, or a disruption in foster care placement. These children need a safe, comfortable place to stay until their home issues are resolved, or until they can be placed with a foster family.
