RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors approve the use of Toro Park - Oak Grove Area on September 10, 2017 for a religious function held by Young Nak Church in compliance with Monterey County Code 14.12.130(A)(14).
SUMMARY:
Young Nak Church has reserved the Oak Grove Picnic Area for September 10, 2017 at Toro Park to hold worship services. This event is estimated to include 130 people. The rental agreement includes vehicle entrance for 15 vehicles. Each additional vehicle entrance will be a fee of $8.00 per eight (8) passenger vehicles, which will be charge upon the arrival of each vehicle. Pursuant to Monterey County Code 14.12.130(A)(14), all political rallies, religious services, and any fundraising activities must have prior approval from the Board of Supervisors.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The recommended action has been approved by County Counsel.
FINANCING:
The standard day use and reservation fees approved by the Board of Supervisors for all age groups are in effect for this event. RMA will receive $204.00 for use of the picnic area and parking. There will be no effect to budgeted General Fund Contribution due to this action.
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS STRATEGIC INITIATIVES:
The recommended action implements policies and regulations that is in general conformance to the Monterey County Code.
