RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Receive the certified Statement of Votes Cast and declare final the results of the August 29, 2017 East Garrison Community Services District All Mail Ballot Election as set forth in the attached document.
SUMMARY:
The Elections Department requests the Board of Supervisors receive the Statement of Votes Cast at the August 29, 2017 East Garrison Community Services District Election within Monterey County, as certified by the Registrar of Voters.
DISCUSSION:
In accordance with Elections Code Section 15372, the Registrar of Voters is submitting the certified Statement of Votes Cast to your Board. Pursuant to Elections Code Section 15374, the Statement of Votes Cast shows:
* the total number of ballots cast;
* the number of votes cast at each precinct for and against each measure.
Official Canvass of the Vote. The official canvass was completed and the election certified on September 6, 2017. The official canvass consisted of several steps, including processing and counting ballots, a reconciliation of vote by mail ballots counted with the number of votes recorded, and a manual tally of the ballots.
Pursuant to Elections Code Section 15400, et seq., the Registrar of Voters recommends that the Board of Supervisors declare the results of Measure D as delineated in the attached August 29, 2017 Final Official Report.
Copies of the August 29, 2017 Statement of Votes Cast are on file with the Clerk of the Board.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The district in the attached document requested that the Registrar of Voters render election services for the August 29, 2017 East Garrison Community Services District Election. County Counsel reviewed and approved the recommendation.
