RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
A. Approve and Authorize the Director of Economic Development to sign and execute a grant agreement between the County of Monterey and the Workforce Development Board for provision of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Title I Adult and Dislocated Worker and Youth Services, retroactive to July 1, 2017 at a base amount of $622,490 for Youth and $2,848,158 for Adult and Dislocated.
B. Approve and Authorize the Director of Economic Development to sign and execute a grant agreement between the County of Monterey and the Workforce Development Board for provision of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Title I Youth Services, retroactive to July 1, 2017.

SUMMARY:
The Workforce Development Board issued a Request for Proposal for the Youth Grant and developed a grant agreement for both the Adult and Dislocated Worker program for the FY 2017- 2018. As a result, the County of Monterey will be entering into agreement to receive grant funds from the Department of Labor, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program provider known as the Monterey County Workforce Development Board.
